Dequervein’s Tendonitis
Dequervein’s Tendonitis is an irritation to the tendons of the wrist and thumb that develops due to repetitive sideways movement of the wrist.
It is also very common in pregnancy or immediately post partum due to fluid retention around the tendons. It is frequently associated with certain wrist positioning when lifting a baby from the crib.
The main symptoms include pain with turning the wrist or moving it sideways, pain with movement of the thumb. There can also be swelling or a visible bump a couple of inches below the base of the thumb.
The treatment is usually non operative.
