Wrist Pain
Wrist pain is a very common complaint in all age categories.
There could be a number of reasons for it starting with a simple injury or “sprain” of the wrist ligaments and ending with combined injuries with multiple broken bones and torn ligaments in the hand and wrist.
Underlying medical diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis could be a cause for wrist pain.
Often old injuries to the wrist can lead to development of the disease of “ wear and tear” or arthritis which can cause significant discomfort or pain with wrist motion.
The treatment of wrist pain depends on the underlying condition.
It may begin with a simple brace and physical therapy or surgery when indicated.
