Nailbed injuries

Nailbed injuries occur as a result of a crush injury to the finger tip. Very frequently seen when a finger tip gets jammed in a car door or when it is injured with a heavy object.

Symptoms include severe pain, swelling and bruising underneath the nail.

These injuries are also frequently associated with broken bones at the finger tip.

Please do not wait to seek medical attention. These can result in persistent pain, failure to heal, infection and nail deformities if not treated properly.
