The symptoms include, but are not limited to hands falling asleep at night or while talking on the phone, driving. Sometimes patients experience pain and burning in the hands. Hand weakness can also be caused by carpal tunnel syndrome as well as inability to pick up small objects, button shirts.
Some believe that the symptoms occur in people who frequently use computers, this is false. Anyone can get carpal tunnel.
Carpal tunnel is more common in manual laborers and patients with diabetes.
